One of the most anticipated albums of the year has been pushed back. On Monday night, Drake took to his Instagram to inform his fans that his next studio album, Certified Lover Boy, would be delayed until later this year.

In the message he states, “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery, I’m blessed to be back on my feet and feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”

In October of 2020, Drake posted a photo of his recovery from a knee surgery which happened to be the same one he’d previously injured.

Drake’s decision to postpone his album may not be that surprising considering the rapper has not yet released a single to promote the project. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait much longer for the self proclaimed “6ix god” to deliver.
