We’re two weeks into 2021 and with an ongoing pandemic, it’s been a slow start for hip-hop. While one of the world’s biggest artists is set to release in the upcoming weeks, the industry as a whole is still finding its footing and determining what approach to take for an uncertain future.
That’s not to say that the music well has gone completely dry. Several artists have dropped music to hold their fans over until their next major release. dvsn have released a deluxe version of their acclaimed album A Muse In Her Feelings, Jazmine Sullivan surprised us with Heaux Tales, and SZA delivered her follow up single Good Days.
Here’s some of the vibes setting 2021 off right:
Following their 2020 album A Muse In Her Feelings dvsn are back with four new tracks for their deluxe album Amusing Her Feelings (see what they did there?). Use Somebody samples Kings of Leon’s famous song by the same title.
Christmas is the season of giving, and SZA was feeling generous when she dropped her new single Good Days. The release date of her upcoming album is still a mystery, but given her promotional run so far, fans should be excited.
As one of the hardest working artists in the game, NBA Youngboy, continues to bolster his catalog with hit after hit and It Ain’t Over is no different.
Off her EP Heaux Tales Jazmine delivers an anthem for holding down your man. Take note ladies.
Fayetteville Morray got thrown into mainstream stardom with his new found hit Quicksand. A trap ballad for the charts.
Russ teams up with hip-hop’s hottest rapper to deliver a club joint.
