Here’s the Funk for what has been the craziest week we’ve ever lived in our life times…
I’m shocked that KKKanye stuck to his word and dropped his 8th studio album titled YE. With all the other albums he’s been working on I thought he’d push one back, but he’s 2-for-2 so far. Ye vs. The People isn’t on it, but considering he took the photo for the album art minutes before his listening party, you’d be hard pressed to find a single or a proper leak.
Upon release, I’m Upset was not received well by the masses (at least by Drake’s standards), it seemed lazy and basic. But after the week Drake has had with Pusha Tea revealing all, this song has grown on me simply for the fact that I know who he’s addressing in this song. “Can’t go 50-50 with no…”
Black Thought released one of the greatest freestyles of all time right before the new year, and now he gives us the Streams of Thought EP; Making a Murderer being one of the hardest songs off it.
6ix9ine is back on his bull-bull starting a beef with Chicago rappers Chief Keef and Lil Reese, who really aren’t to be played with. But if there’s one thing this kid can do well, it’s make a hit and TATI is no exception to that rule.
Mac has been quiet for a minute, but he’s back with three new songs for his fans.
Ahead of their July 20th release of their upcoming album Hive Mind, The Internet give us their first single Come Over and it’s a tuuuune.
EP’s seem to be the wave these days. UK artist J Hus comes through with his three track EP Big Spang.
With the week we’ve had involving Drake, I can see why Quentin would want to release new music to capitalize off some buzz, but I think in order for his career to take off he’s got to distance himself from everything Drake.
Audio Push is a California Hip Hop duo containing Oktane and Price. Melange is their latest five song EP, with Craner Ave being a potential hit.
From the lastest album THE NOW NOW, the Gorillaz give us the visuals for Humility.
Toronto man BAKA is back with another aggressive banger. No shots for Push though.
Banger. Alert. Madeintyo and Ferg team up for this heater.
This sounds like a diet 6ix9ine song when it comes to Fetty, but one should give a listen solely for Fuzz, he’s got a good verse.
We missed this one last week, but with how good Zaytoven’s album is, it had to get a spot on this week’s Funk.
“La musica de Harry Fraud!” Curren$y links up with respected producer Harry Fraud for an eight track EP.
Maroon wanna party with Cardi! Girls Like You gets an update? a remix? a retool? with Cardi B. Same song with an added verse from a queen.
