Something about Rihanna dropping Fenty lingerie today and so does the Funk. Here’s what popped this week:
It’s official. Donald Glover is one of, if not the most talented person in Hollywood. This Is America is a captivating and thought provoking video with tons of hidden symbolism mixed throughout that touches on the state of America from it’s inception to today.
Free Agent Wale is back at it again with more body bag bars. Self Promotion is Wale’s second in EP in about two months and he continues to deliver high quality music ever since he’s gotten out of his bad contract. Peep Negotiations, one of the best tracks I’ve ever heard from him.
Shout out to my buddy Steve. For those of you that don’t know Steven Luces he’s a talented individual who I’ve known since high school. He’s self taught in music and just released his latest single Time Is On Your Side. Well worth a listen.
It’s good to be home. After dealing with a corrupted court system, Meek Mill is finally back at home and he hasn’t missed a beat. Oh No is one of three new released tracks that have been leaked (hence the DJ tags in them) that shows he’s still got it.
Well this is a surprise. Last week’s Friday Funk featured Carti’s latest single Love Hurts, but we had no idea that his album would be dropping today. On it, he recruits; Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Bryson Tiller and more.
The legendary SP the Ghost releases his 8th studio album and with his lyrical prowess it’s hard to think it would disappoint. Window To The Soul is a glimpse of what you’re in for on this project.
Can these two collab on a whole project already? Week after week they keep bringing the heat and so I guess the funk doesn’t stop for them either. This week is no different as they bring their talents to the Once Upon A Time beat.
Chance teased this song on his tour last year and all we got was a cellphone recorded version. But, F-I-N-A-L-L-Y we get the full song in proper quality. Chance and Future a good mix too.
Been a minute since we’ve heard from UK’s grime artist Skepta on this side of the pond, but he’s got a new banger ready for the summer and it’s quite wavy.
Beach House 3 came out last October, but Ty decided to ready up for the summer and drop six new songs for the Deluxe version. Of those six, Clout is already a certified hit.
After weeks of anticipation, Tee Grizzley releases his second studio album and if you like rapping, it’s pure to form. Grizzley hopes to improve off his debut album last year which featured one of the biggest songs of the year.
What better way to celebrate your birthday than to drop some dope music. Ace Hood has been quite quiet in the hip hop scene as of late, which is a shame because he was top of his class when it came to rapping and a lot of artists have taken his style now. But he’s back for a bit and has got hits on deck.
One of the most iconic beat makers recruits a star studded lineup for his new song Go Get The Money. Does it live up to the hype though? You can decide.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve never listened to a Rita Ora song, but I saw Cardi promote this on her Instagram so I figured it deserved a spot on the funk. On Girls Rita explores bisexuality and enlists other female artists to compliment the song.
If you don’t know Stro, now you know Stro. Never heard of the dude, but he teamed up with legendary Statik Selektah for this smooth track.
EDIT: This is the young boy from New York who went by Astro and wanted to rap for Jay. Damn time flies…
