Here’s the Friday the 13th edition of the Friday Funk…

Drake – Nice For What

It’s been quite the week for women with the release of Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy being well received and Nicki back on the scene. Drake decided to come through with his song for the queens using a Lauryn Hill sample, and a dope video to match.

Nicki Minaj – Chun Li & Barbie Tingz

Nicki’s been on hiatus for quite some time. Her last few songs didn’t chart the way she expected them to and it’s left her out of mainstream conversation. But she’s looking to change the narrative with Chun Li and Barbie Tingz. And with Cardi’s imminent absence, due to the release of her album and pregnancy, the summer appears to be ripe for Nicki’s taking.

Madeintyo – Summer With Santana

Madeintyo’s got his summer hit on deck with this one.

Kid Cudi – The Rage

From the soundtrack for the Rock’s new movie Rampage Kid Cudi comes through with another rager.

50 Cent – Crazy (Feat. PnB Rock)

Fifty gets back in his zone on a rock-esque beat with Crazy. To handle the hook he enlists PnB Rock who does a good job with the vocals.

G Herbo – Who Run It Remix (Feat. Lil Uzi Vert)

G Herbo’s Who Run It Freestyle on K104’s radio station went viral as he spit fire whiles bopping to the beat with the Black Panther Challenge Day swag. Since then it’s not only sparked a remix of his own, but several other artists have hopped on the beat to test their skills under the Who Run It challenge tag.

Young Thug – Hear No Evil

After declaring his artist name to be “SEX”, Thug has yet to release new music under the moniker, but Hear No Evil is his first body of work in 2018 and it’s being received quite well.

Lil Wayne – Hercules

With the ongoing legal battle between Wayne and Birdman, Wayne’s music has taken a bit of a back seat. It turns out Hercules is a new song he’s used for his skate video and not a single for The Carter 5. Song starts at 0:52

Elhae – Die Alone

The R&B artist fights for the love of a girl as he tries not to Die Alone.

Kali Uchis – Isolation

Kali Uchis is a 24-year-old American Colombian R&B artist who’s rising on the scene. Isolation is her latest album and in it she addresses situations that she’s been through in her life. For example, in Tyrant, she questions whether by opening up to a partner would leave her vulnerable to them being a Tyrant.

Joyner Lucas – Frozen

Joyner Lucas is most known for his song I’m Not A Racist which to date has over 56 million views on Youtube alone. He also recently got in a beef with bi-racial rapper Logic. On Frozen he comes with a PSA on how distracted driving kills and the point really hits home because he tells the story through the lens of the victim. Another creative video.

Dave East – Blue Hundreds (Feat. Vado)

Dave East and Vado continue their run of teaming up and merking beats. This time it’s on G Herbo’s Who Run It Remix

Jim Jones – Wasted Talent

DIPSET, DIPSET, DIP-OWWW! Byrdgang! Sorry, had to shout out the iconic NY legends. Jim Jones comes through with the surprise drop and gives us a new project titled Wasted Talent.  The beats are very reminiscent of his past work which is a good thing for the fans.

Freddie Gibbs – Colors (Feat. G Perico & Mozzy)

Gibbs speaks his truth about gang life with G Perico and Mozzy on a real smooth jazz beat.

Carnage – Battered, Bruised & Bloodied

DJ Carnage releases his latest album and enlists the help of a couple artist to hop on some dark beats.
