Here’s the Friday Funk for March 23rd:
N.E.R.D & Rihanna – Lemon Remix (Feat. Drake)
Drake’s been money all 2018, so hopping on one of the hottest songs of last year isn’t surprising. But I’m going to keep it real with you chief…this remix ain’t it. His voice, flow, and delivery are all off and it does more harm than good on this one. Y’all can judge for yourselves though.
Hard Tay K & Blockboy JB – Hard
No Jumper aka Adam22 is best known for his entertainment podcast “No Jumper”. He is by no means a rapper, but does have affiliations with the industry. He got Tay K, known for his hit single The Race, and Blocboy JB who teamed up with Drake on Look Alive, to make this aptly named banger.
Bishop Nehru – Elevators, Act 1 & 2
I haven’t peeped the project yet, but it’s got a lot of creativity going for it. For starters, the production on Act 1: Ascension is handled by Canadian DJ KAYTRANADA. Whereas Act 2: Free Fall, is handled by hip-hop legend MF Doom. Driftin’ is just a taste of what’s in store for you on Nehru’s latest album.
Sheck Wes – Do That
Up and coming New York rapper Sheck Wes drops his new single Do That which packs some abrasive lyrics on a banging beat. Sheck Wes is no stranger to hard hitting tracks, and he’s got more in his repertoire. If you’re looking to dive deeper, check out his hit Mo Bamba, which is titled after the Texas Longhorn’s freshman who recently declared for the NBA draft.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie – Best Friend (Feat. Tory Lanez)
A Boogie made a promise to deliver a song everyday of this week and has kept up his end of the bargain. On his Wednesday song, Best Friend, he teams up with Toronto artist Tory Lanez. In it they discuss the blurred lines between being best friends after messing around which is accompanied by a nice bop.
Belly – 4 Days (Feat. YG)
Canadian rapper Belly has been gearing up for his next album release by teasing fans with pictures of him working in the studio with the legendary Jay Z. Off that press he’s decided to drop 4 Days in which he recruits LA rapper YG for this west coast type beat.

Videos
Wale – Staying Power
Free agent Folarin got in his bag and has put the game on notice. In Staying Power he flexes his pen game while cruising the streets of DC.
Lil Dicky – Freaky Friday (Feat. Chris Brown)
It’s rare to see a video that directly correlates with a song, but Lil Dicky and Chris Brown were able to join forces and do just that. This is hands down of the best videos of the year and it’s only March. Props to the creativity, I dig all the body changes at the end too.
Migos – Walk It Talk It (Feat. Drake)
More creative content! Migos and Drake team up for this 70’s/80’s styled game show video which should help the song get more play on the charts.
This was funny AF too:
